POLYTECHNICS

There are 48 Polytechnics in the state of which 7 are Women's Polytechnics and 6 are in Private Sector. Three year Diploma Course in 23 disciplines are offered in the various Polytechnics with an annual intake of about 9990 students. The courses offered are given below.

All candidate who have passed SSLC/THSLC or any examination declared equivalent there to with eligibility for admission to a college affiliated to any University in Kerala subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions of merit.

1. Not less than 60% for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together and not less than 50% separately for Mathematics and 50% for Physics and Chemistry put together.
2. Not less than 55% for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry put together and not less than 55% for Mathematics and 50% for Physics&Chemistry put together for those who belong to Socially and Educationally Backward Communities.
3. Not less than 35% for Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics put together and less than 35% separately for Mathematics and 35% for Physics& Chemistry Put together for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

POST DIPLOMA COURSES

Post Diploma Courses are offered in Industrial Electronics, Television Engineering and Computer Application at Central Polytechnic Thiruvananthapuram, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Computer Design in Government Polytechnic Kalamaserry, Foundry Technology at Maharajas Technological Institute, Thrissur, Computer Aided Design in Kerala Government Polytechnic Kozhikode and Applied Electronics in Institute of Printing Technology, Shornur, and Computer Application in Women's Polytechnic Thrissur.

PART- TIME DIPLOMA COURSES

Part time Diploma Course are conducted in Polytechnics at Thiruvananthapuram Kalamassery, Thrissur, Kozhikode Kottayam , Palakkad, and Kannur for the employees working in their appropriate fields.
The duration of the course is 4 years and the courses are offered in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering branches, with a total intake of 1248 per year.
